Holographic fashion showDec. 3 feature: Holoportation, a new technology that beams light to Cadillac Fairview Toronto Eaton Centre

The Shop the Look holiday attendees fashion showThe world’s first hologram of models in 4K will be shown in three locations around the shopping centre. A digital shopping guide will enable guests to shop the looks.

Fashion enthusiasts may be able to recall the fashion frenzy that surrounded late British fashion. designer Alexander McQueen’s showThe Widows of Culloden was formed in 2006 after a hologram of Kate Moss, a supermodel, graced the catwalk and mesmerized the audience with her theatrics. Infiltrating the entertainment industry has been holographic projections since 2012. In 2012, Tupac Shakur took to the stage at Coachella. In 2014, Michael Jackson was resurrected at the Billboard Music Awards. Recently, nominees for 2021 British Academy Television Awards (the British equivalent to the Emmys) were beamed onto red carpets.

“Our customers’ expectations are continuously evolving, which is why we’re always looking for creative solutions to offer our guests the most efficient and inspiring shopping experiences,”Andrea Nickel, Cadillac Fairview Director of Customer Experience and Marketing Communications.

QR codes will be posted at each holographic display allowing shoppers the opportunity to peruse CF’s Shop the Look Holiday Hub, a website that provides details on all of the looks from the showThey also include the retail locations where they may purchase the items.

This is the first Canadian use of PORTL and the first time holoportation technology was used to beam models into a retail space for interaction with the public.

“When we beam the fashion models into CF Toronto Eaton Centre this week, shoppers will be witnessing the future – a new kind of sustainable transportation that lets people have meaningful interactions across every kind of divide,”Nussbaum stated.

Guests who attend showThe device will be available for consumers to try at an activation event on December 3. The first 100 shoppers will be able to transform into a hologram to take a selfie.
