Swift water team makes rescue near Fashion Valley

SAN DIEGO, KGTV – Six people were in a minivan that drove along a flooded road close to Fashion Valley. mallAccording to a San Diego Fire-Rescue official they were rescued on Friday.

Avenida del Rio: A popular exit route for the mallDue to rising water levels in San Diego River, Friars Road was closed Thursday and Friday.

A lifeguard river rescue team was also nearby, as well as fire trucks.

The swift water rescue team used an inflatable raft to rescue everyone in the van. Five women and one man were inside the van. According to fire officials, no one was injured.

Police believe the car was driven and owned by a rideshare driver who picked up five women from the station. mallAll were visiting from out of country.

There are barriers on Fashion Valley’s south side mallThis sign signifies that the road has been closed.
