Police arrest 2 more in Scottsdale Fashion Square looting last year

PHOENIX — Two more suspects have been arrested in connection to the unrest at Scottsdale Fashion Square last May, police said Tuesday.

Seneca Rodriguez and Ivan Nunez-Mendoza were both arrested on May 26th on burglary felony charges. Nunez-Mendoza has been booked and released.

64 people have been arrested by authorities in connection with the night of unrest that occurred on May 30, 31 and 30, last year. Multiple stores were broken into and vandalized, resulting in millions in damages.

Nunez-Mendoza allegedly broke into Mercedes-Benz dealership and stole sunglasses.

According to authorities, he was captured on dealership surveillance camera tipping over a showroom display and removing merchandise.

Authorities claimed that Rodriguez was seen on surveillance video with Nunez-Mendoza. He was also seen entering the dealership, damaging property, and stealing sunglasses.

In either arrest, no property was found.

Over $244,000 worth merchandise was recovered by authorities over the past year.

Scottsdale Fashion was closed for just over two weeks after the night of unrest.

Authorities state that they are still investigating and following up on evidence, tips, and information.
