After striking and being stabbed, the driver of an SUV fled. seriouslyFriday afternoon, injuring pedestrian nearThe Fashion Valley mallPolice said.
The alleged hit-and-runA collision occurred around 4 p.m. on Friars Road, just West of State Route 163. The man entered a crosswalk to head away from one the mall’s parking structures, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.
Heims stated that the driver, a blue-colored Chevrolet Blazer, was traveling east on Friars road and stopped at the stop sign. inA news release. The SUV then continued onward, striking the pedestrian, and then sped off.
The pedestrian was taken by medics to a hospital “with multiple serious injuries,”Heims stated that fractured bones could also be included. The injuries were not expected be life-threatening.
Police said the Blazer’s driver was male, but no other description was immediately available.
