ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Parents may face “sticker shock”There are easy ways to save money on back-to school prices this year.
According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), families will spend an average $849 on back school supplies. That’s nearly $60 more than last year.
However, you can score some big savings on back-to-school clothes at Goodwill, which has discounted rates for all children’s clothes, from shirts to name-brand jeans.
When strolling through the aisles of Goodwill, you’re not only helping your bank account, but also helping the environment.
“When we get donations, we are recycling those, so when you are buying, you are helping to keep items out of the landfill,”Chelsea Moran, Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. “and to really repurpose and to be very environmentally conscience while you’re shopping at Goodwill.”
Be aware of bullying when students return to school.
Goodwill has more to offer than clothes. You might find sporting equipment, lunch boxes, or other useful items.
Goodwill accepts both donations and purchase. This will help the career fund, create jobs, and provide financial support.
