Fashion Valley Poised For Multimillion Dollar Renovation

 

SAN DIEGO, (KGTV) — A multi-million-dollar renovation is planned for one of San Diego’s most iconic malls.

Fashion Valley will announce on Wednesday a new project that it describes as adding inviting public spaces to the area, enhanced landscaping, larger dining and gathering areas, tranquil outdoor lounges and water feature, and increased personal shopping and valet service.

It’s the mallThe largest construction project since the addition of a second floor in the mid-1990s.

Vicki Hanor, senior vice president of Simon Malls, stated in a statement Fashion Valley has more than 50 exclusive San Diego retailers and is known for providing the best shopping and dining experiences.

“The proposed updates only seek to further enhance the overall guest experience and better reflect the San Diego lifestyle we all enjoy,”Hanor said.

Fashion Valley’s latest major facelift is Fashion Valley mall in San Diego.

Westfield UTC has added a new building to its campus, as well as an apartment tower. Del Mar Heights’ new One Paseo recently leased its entire retail wing. Horton Plaza will become a tech hub in downtown.

Reg Kobzi is a senior vice-president at CBRE commercial real-estate firm. He said Fashion Valley is still one of San Diego’s most popular malls and draws shoppers from Mexico.

However, he stated that it must invest to keep that status.

“It’s a tough world out in the retail world, and so if you’re competing for tenants, they want to be on par or be above them,”Kobzi stated.

Kozbi stated that malls are trying keep customers at the malls mallWith more things to do, you can stay longer. He said that the longer they stay, they are more likely to spend money.

Construction could begin as soon as Wednesday and be completed by 2021. The mallAll shops will be open during regular hours and parking will be free.
