The Bench. The bench. This is the title of the new children’s book born from the volcanic mind of Meghan Markle. Released on June 8 in American bookstores and published by Random House, The Bench is the story of the link between fathers and sons seen from the eyes of a mother.
The book, of course, comes from the direct experience of the Duchess of Sussex who said she had the inspiration during the Father’s Day of 2018, a few time after the baby was born Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
“The Bench was born from a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born “revealed Meghan,” That poem has become this story. “In addition to the words of the Duchess, the book will also make use of illustrations by Christian Robinson, winner of the Caldecott Medal, one of the most important honors in the children’s publishing industry.
Obviously, the work is not lacking in themes so dear to the Duchess that found ample space in the pages of the book: “Christian and I worked closely together to paint this special bond. [tra padre e figlio] through the lens of inclusiveness “.
