At the end of January, Alessandro Dell’Acqua announced the launch of a collection with Elena Mirò on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week. But those who have thought of finding themselves in front of a new curvy project are totally off the mark. Also on this occasion, the designer has done nothing but celebrate femininity, without any conditioning of the shape, with a silhouette that respects the free and naturally soft course of the female body.

“I worked respecting a concept that goes beyond that of inclusiveness”, explains Alessandro Dell’Acqua. “Making a fashion collection that includes a wide range of sizes could result in a mannerism that has no real meaning of inclusion but simply gives a commercial motivation to politically correct. Instead, I wanted to go further and I thought of building desirable clothes without letting myself be conditioned by the rules related to sizes, and no size. I have applied myself to technologically transforming fabrics to increase comfort, even when they are heavy like tweed, and I have pushed away any easy solution that could give the sensation of wrapping women in a sack shape. I accepted this challenge because I am convinced that we can work on this theme without falling into the cliché of curvy fashion ”.

And to present the collection, alongside Dell’Acqua, the most appreciated duo of photographers in the fashion world took to the field, the one formed by Mert & Marcus, together with the wonderful model Lara Stone, to give life to an advertising campaign that celebrates the naturalness of women and their right to be themselves.

But let’s look closely the key looks of the Alessandro Dell’Acqua x Elena Mirò collection.
