Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a brief surprise appearance today during Spotify’s Stream On event to speak a little about their podcast, Archewell Audio. The event, their first since announcing they were expecting their second child and that they are permanently stepping back from their working royal family roles, offered a rare look at Meghan’s maternity style. The Duchess of Sussex wore a gorgeous sleeveless Oscar de la Renta dress, according to Hello!. Her hair was styled down in waves.
Meghan and Harry spoke a little about what their Spotify program will be like. “We’re using podcasting to drive powerful conversations,” Meghan started.
“That inspire, challenge, and educate,” Harry added.
“We created Archewell audio to make sure we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard and hear people’s stories,” Meghan said.

On Friday, Buckingham Palace announced that one year after stepping back from their senior royal family roles, Meghan and Harry had informed the Queen that they intended to remain non-working royal family members. The couple has signed deals with both Spotify and Netflix to create content and are now living in Montecito, CA, with their soon-to-be two-year-old son, Archie.
The Buckingham Palace statement read:
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.
Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service. The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family.
While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.
Meghan and Harry released their own statement in response to the news through their spokesperson. “As evidenced by their work over the past year, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the U.K. and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organizations they have represented regardless of official role. We can all live a life of service. Service is universal,” the spokesperson said.
