Borbonese workshop, creative hub founded by Borbonese to collaborate with international schools, he has created an exclusive project of creativity and management with Parsons Paris, the European headquarters of Parsons School of Design in New York. Started in February 2020, the project involved the students of Parsons Paris and Parsons New York in Fashion Design and Brand Management in a creative path that had as its main inspiration the tradition of tapestries in Sardinian craftsmanship. “Savoy Faire” is the title of this project for which the Fashion Design students have created one Special Edition Bag, while the Strategic Design and Management students finalized the marketing and communication strategy for the product launch on a new market, through the analysis of the brand positioning.

The distinctive features of “Savoy Faire” were sustainability, craftsmanship, the choice of materials with a controlled supply chain, the enhancement of local cultures and attention to female-run businesses. For this purpose Wilda Scanu, head of the artisan cooperative, made up only of women, Su Trobasciu of Mogoro, a small town in the province of Oristano, explained to the students in detail the secrets of tapestry processing and the use of traditional materials. The decision to link this project to Sardinia derives from the historical relationship that unites this reason with Piedmont, the birthplace of Borbonese.

“Savoy Faire” culminated with three finalist prototypes: Lara Gerlach with the Rinasci bag, Alice Le Ster with Buttonera bag and the duo Caterina Masoni ed Elena Marshall with the La Cinta shoulder strap.

A special jury made up of the Borbonese team and external experts between Paris and Milan decreed Lara Gerlach winner of this edition. Thanks to the operation, his project will be presented in the Spring Summer 2022 Sales Campaign of Borbonese, as well as the possibility of doing an internship in the company at the end of his / her cycle of studies
