“Azzedine Alaïa’s powerful vision was inspiring, as she always tried to give the necessary time to an innovative and lasting creation”, Mulier said in the official statement. “It is with this enormous sense of admiration and responsibility that I will seek to carry on her legacy of celebrating femininity and placing women at the center of creation. I look forward to meeting Alaïa’s precious clients and friends, as well as the Alaïa Foundation, and to shape the future of this legendary Maison together. “

Mulier will be the first heir of the Alaïa DNA, suspended in the limbo of the search for the perfect candidate after the death of the couturier and founder in 2017. The group Richemont, which acquired the brand, strategically chose to wait in replacing a sacred monster like monsieur Azzedine, preferring to entrust the collections to a trusted team of designers who have reworked archive items.

While waiting to see their creations, we just have to wish Pieter Mulier good chance!
