The young man Italian dj and producer Thomas Costantin, known for being one of the last resident dj of Plastic in Milan before the pandemic, it reminds us that the world of nightlife is still alive with the videoclip of the new single Berlin.
About a year after the closing of the clubs, on January 21, 2020, Costantin publishes Berlin, single produced by Francesco “Pisti” Pistoi for the independent label Fluidostudio. The piece contains many firsts by Thomas Costantin: it is the first piece written and sung in Italian, the first single of the new artistic project for Fluidostudio, the first time he presents himself with his personal name, as well as the first time he reveals his face on the cover of a single. The video clip, released on February 4, 2021, is made in co-production between Fluidostudio and Dare Studio, with the direction of Nicola Garzetti and the artistic direction of Stefano Libertini Protopapa.
“During the pandemic I had the time to dedicate myself to a whole new project that could bring me closer to my Italian audience. I did some rehearsals and I realized that I like singing in Italian even more. Our language is beautiful. », He told us Thomas Costantin. “This last year has certainly not been a year to remember for nightlife. As for me though, this break gave me the space and time to do the things I love and to take up musical writing again. I am very happy with how this electronic songwriting project is starting and I am sure that the public will welcome it. In this period there is a general discontent, but people also need more emotions and music is a teacher of this“.
The nightlife of which Thomas Costantin himself is a part is recalled in the dreamlike and sometimes surreal sequences of the Berlin video clip. Berlin, considered not as a metropolis in itself, but as an emblem of a nocturnal microcosm inhabited by the most disparate clubbers, performers and figures, is told through images and characters: from the dramatic actress to the very young club kid, from the eccentric burlesquer to the shy Italian-Nigerian model, in an ideal night scene that embraces all diversity.

The video clip is shot between the headquarters of the Q Club, a symbolic place of the Milanese scene, e Fornasetti’s private home, the designer who exceptionally opens the doors of what is considered almost a secret temple. In these iconic places, between lightning flashes inspired by David Lynch, plays of shadows and reflections that refer to the aesthetics of Bergmann and Peter Greenaway, sensations and memories by now dormant are evoked, awakening in us the desire to return to live at night.
