Sustainable fashion: a new collaboration that combines ethics and aesthetics.
C’est la V, born in 2013 from the inspiration of Vittoria Bottasini, is the Milanese brand with Seventies inspiration: from the lucky Pitù trousers in stretch jersey it has evolved over time with a line of longdresses, shirtdresses and skirts, overalls, jumpsuits, blouses and vests, flare pants in size and swimwear. In his genetic predilection for a life with psychedelic prints and tribal rhythms radiated in the shadow of the dream of the palm trees of Panama, Woodstock dances with his extra-large paw but above all he does not conceive true beauty and freedom without the culmination of the word respect. After adopting ECONYL® recycled nylon fabrics, regenerated yarn, 100% certified upcycling that shares values such as love for the oceans, and having chosen ethical supply chains for hand-sewn Alpaca knitwear by a community of artisans located in Peru, the most recent and further step towards sustainable fashion is the partnership with the ethical brand Made in Carcere, born in 2007 thanks to Luciana Delle Donne, former founder of Officina Creativa, a non-profit social cooperative.
Through this project and training course, twenty inmates of transversal age and origin are offered the possibility of reintegration into the working and civil society using sewing machines present in the tailors of Lecce and Trani. The realization tailoring takes place with waste materials and fabrics and in the specific case of C’est la V using the colored fabrics in ECONYL®, supplied directly by the company to produce some of the must-have items, in one size. Briano Martinoni Caleppio – CEO and partner of C’est la V – declares: “The partnership between Made In Carcere and C’est la V is a further step in our process of always optimizing plus the production chain, with a vision that goes beyond the intrinsic value of the product “. Thanks to this important synergy, each garment represents an additional opportunity to return to being autonomous and prepare for a “second” life worthy of the name. An occasion that makes beauty and fashion a truly global value because this is how people think and see the spirit of those who truly have a respectful and free spirit.
