National Chamber of Italian Fashion presented the Milan Fashion Week of February 2021, announcing all the news on fashion shows, presentations and initiatives that will give life to an entirely digital edition of the event, from 23 February to 1 March. 61 fashion shows and 57 presentations in the official CNMI calendar, for the first time Brunello Cucinelli with a live show from Solomeo. 15 physical shows reserved for a minimum presence of professionals, including journalists and buyers.
After the first day of Milan Fashion Week – which will open with a short film dedicated to Beppe Modenese, former honorary president of CNMI, who passed away in November 2020 – the digital event in particular should be noted “WE ARE MADE IN ITALY – The Fab Five Bridge Builders”, developed by the working group of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion “Black Lives Matter in Italian Fashion “. The project curated by Stella Jean, Edward Buchanan, Michelle Francine Ngonmo and CNMI intends to celebrate the values of inclusion and multiculturalism and aims to highlight the talent of five POC (people of color): Joy ljeoma Meribe – MODAF DESIGNS; Karim Daoudi – KARIM DAOUDI; Claudia Gisèle Ntsama – GISFAB; Fabiola Manirakiza – FRIDA-KIZA; Pape Mocodou Fall alias Mokodu – MOKODU, who will have the digital platform and special visibility available for their creative performances.
The new designers supported by CNMI Fashion Trust are Act N ° 1 and Marco Rambaldi. While, in collaboration with Rinascente, a pop-up shop will be inaugurated dedicated to the collections of 11 of the most promising young designers on the Italian scene.
In addition to the fashion shows and presentations of the new fall winter 2021 collections, the CNMI site will host some thematic rooms including: the room dedicated to sustainability “Designer for The Planet” with the collections of 6 emerging Italian brands; and the room in collaboration with Confartigianato, edited by Sara Sozzani Maino, to promote 5 excellent Made in Italy craft activities.
Another digital space on the CNMI website will be reserved for virtual showrooms dedicated to the relationships between brands and buyers from all over the world.
Fashion Week will be inaugurated on the evening of February 24 at 9:00 pm with the digital party “CNMI MEETS CLUB TOMORROW”, on the Instagram profile @cameramoda. DJset and performance by Andrea Ratti & Sergio Tavelli and the queens of Club Domani.
Urban Vision will broadcast the videos of the fashion shows and other contents of the Milan Fashion Week in February 2021 through a series of maxi screens positioned in strategic points of the city of Milan. The event can be followed from all over the world on milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it.
Out of the official CNMI calendar, Versace announced that it will present the Fall / Winter 2021 collection with a digital show on March 5th. “Versace remains a proud member of Camera della Moda and that the brand will always be one of the main exponents and a great supporter of the Italian fashion system. “ commented Donatella Versace.
