Channels announced the collaboration with 8ON8, brand of the Chinese designer Li Gong, for a capsule collection first of its kind. Gong will be invited to explore and reinvent Canali’s well-regarded world of sartorial menswear in tune with his own aesthetic language.

“I have seen many collaborative projects, however, in the luxury sector I feel that the potential and possibilities of Chinese designers are still to be fully explored” said the President and CEO of Canali, Stefano Canali. “We have had this idea for some time and now with the experience and his creations, I am sure that Li Gong will bring new ideas to the world of luxury menswear.”

“Beyond the different approaches of China and Italy to clothing, I see that there is a cultural commonality rooted in the way we view the roles of leaders in the male lifestyle,” said designer Li Gong. “This capsule will reflect my personal perspective and my thinking on contemporary luxury men’s style and I am very happy that a brand like Canali can embrace my vision.”

The capsule collection will be released inautumn winter 2021 and will include ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes.
