Uniqlo’s liaison with the Louvre Museum will start on February 4th with the launch of the first capsule collection
Fashion meets art again thanks to the collaboration between Uniqlo and the Louvre Museum. It is about a four-year partnership that aims to bring the public closer to the museum’s unmissable masterpieces.
“I am honored and excited to be collaborating with the famous Louvre Museum. This is a longtime dream come true “, he has declared Tadashi Yanai, Chairman, President, and CEO of Fast Retailing. “Uniqlo has done a lot to date to share the pleasure of art with the general public, especially in line with our commitment to Lifewear, which means garments designed to help improve everyone’s daily life. We hope ours will partnership with the museum can allow as many people as possible to experience and appreciate the universal beauty of those masterpieces “.
This journey will begin on February 4th with the launch of a capsule collection of sweatshirts and T-shirts featuring prints depicting works of art from the Louvre. The women’s collection focuses on female forms as a universal message in favor of diversity.
Furthermore, starting from spring 2021 Uniqlo will sponsor the Free SaturdayNights program, which started in January 2019. These are the museum’s night openings that are meant to encourage new visitors to get to know the Louvre and its artwork in a more relaxed setting. To this end, the museum’s opening hours are extended on the first Saturday of each month from 18:00 to 21:45.
Finally, the partnership will also include support for the Mini-Discovery Tour, a new format launched by the Louvre Museum in July 2020. Mostly dedicated to families, these 20-minute guided tours will take place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
