There was a time when ‘style da supermodel‘was synonymous with pure glamor, read: a look almost impossible to imitate without the kilometric legs and the almost unlimited resources that allowed, even vaguely, to resemble the so-called’ Trinity ‘- the trio of tops formed by Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista is Christy Turlington. But with the start of the new year, it’s time to be inspired by a new generation of models reinterpreting the style off-duty in a more casual way e cool that never.
The era of flashy looks in between shows is over. The watchword these days is simplification. Just look at the hottest names on the catwalks. From Bella Hadid’s soft hat to Mona Tougaard’s obsession with low-waisted trousers through to the ‘discover navel’ cardigan by Paloma Elsesser and the The North Face down jacket by Kaia Gerber: the inspiration to renew the wardrobe comes directly from the darlings of fashion.

Here is the guide of Vogue for a supermodel-proof style of the new generation. To show off in 2021.
1. Staying warm is cool
Time to get your heavy coat off. But let’s face it, 2021 is a year more of comfort and practicality than ostentation. For example, catwalk stars like Kaia Gerber and Selena Forrest choose The North Face down jackets that give the look an immediate dose of coolness. And if that’s not enough, add a couple of mules Balenciaga in satin and white sports socks.

2. And as an antidote to head shots, a comfortable bucket hat
On Instagram and TikTok, 90s and Y2K fashion is rampant. It is therefore not surprising that an accessory is also returning to the scene must as the bucket hat, the fisherman’s hat so to speak (which will also be popular this summer). Whether you prefer the ASOS faux fur version like that of Bella Hadid or the one sported by Alva Claire of the British milliner Emma Brewin or that you feel, instead, more represented by the simple black model of the South Korean brand Varzar as it shows us Sora Choi, which combines it with a multicolored patterned oversized vest, the bucket hat is a garment with a thousand resources: it can both add that touch of je ne sais quoi to a casual look but also to play down a outfit a little too much bon ton..

3. Don’t be afraid to show off your navel
The bare navel is all the rage among all It girl of the moment. Proof? Paloma Elsesser loves to show it off through a forest green cardigan Paloma Wool while Adesuwa Aighewi prefers the T-shirt combination crop with print ‘cowgirl‘and Prada amphibians. Last year, however, on the occasion of the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Emily Ratajkowski gave us a reinterpretation of the trend in a formal key with a white bandeau top and coordinated low-waisted skirt of her brand In love. Regardless of how you decide to uncover the navel, make sure you do it with the confident air of one supermodel because for next spring summer this looks like a very cool trend.

4. You must immediately invest in a pair of baggy pants
Tube pants have long been a staple of everyone’s wardrobe supermodel but now it’s official: fashion says ‘enough’ to jeans skinny (taking a well-deserved break) and welcoming so-called models slouchy, with relaxed shapes. The inspiration in this case comes from Mona Tougaard and Adut Akech, real fans of this garment. Match a pair of pants baggy by Acne Studios or the flared and low-rise frame by Converse Chuck Taylors to soften the effect of the tailored blazer and branded bag (as can be the new version of the nylon bag by Prada released in 2000).

5. Find a perfect suit for you
As a rule, among the models, the style off-duty it is placed halfway between the casual and the elegant so as to allow them to be comfortable but always in step with the times as expected from those who work in fashion. But, sometimes, it is worth going against the grain, perhaps choosing a tailored three-piece suit. In this regard, the face that comes to mind is that of Bella Hadid in a brown pinstripe suit complete with vest, crimson red tie and chain belt of the former Central Saint Martins student Dilara Findikoglu. Or what about her sister, Gigi Hadid, in a Vivienne Westwood suit with a duster plaid coordinated at last year’s Paris Fashion Week? Alternatively, you can also choose a total look à la Kendall Jenner with an elegant black turtleneck, satin shirt and trousers. Up Instagram Kendall said: “The Row – from head to toe”.

6. The bezel remains the + hot accessory
We all know by now: the vaccine is arriving everywhere in the world but this does not mean that the pandemic is over. The mask continues to be a life-saving accessory and, wearing it correctly, makes the gesture even more incisive (yes, I’m referring to you, with your mask with your nose out!). Wear yours with pride and maybe even in coordination with theoutfit like Kaia Gerber after removing the cast from her arm or combine it with your Versace bag inspired by Jill Kortleve.
