The plot, in its own way, recalls the most famous of the films focused on this theme: Matrix.

Gregg (Owen Wilson) is a divorced father experiencing a moment of personal difficulty when he meets Isabel (Salma Hayek), a mysterious Homeless who reveals to him that the truth is nothing more than a computer-generated fiction. Isabel’s theories turn out to be as incredible as they are partly true, leading Greg to completely rethink his life and the very concept of truth.

However, Greg’s “new world” will have a further upheaval when his daughter, Emily (Nesta Cooper) tries to bring him back to reality as everyone perceives it in a crescendo of tension and doubts.

“I wanted to create a story about the fragility of the human mind and the malleability of our perception” revealed the director of the film Mike Cahill. “Specifically I wanted to make a film about the different ways of observing the world with empathy and participation, as opposed to judgment”. Bliss will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting February 5th. Here is the trailer for the film instead.
