17-year-old arrested in connection to shooting inside Fashion Fair Mall, Fresno police say

FRESNO (KFSN), A 17-year-old was taken into custody in connection to the shooting at Fashion Fair Mall last weekend. This was announced by the department during a news conference on Wednesday.

Fresno police claim that detectives used security camera to identify the teen. They issued an arrest warrant and he was taken into police custody on Tuesday.

Investigators claim they found a gun belonging to another man that was with the teen at the time of his arrest, but it is not clear if this was the weapon used.

The Fresno County Jail charged the teen with assault with a deadly instrument and firearms violations.

Police claim they aren’t able to determine if the shooting was gang-related.
